Approximately 100 minutes away by a beautiful mountain drive that passes the outskirts of Granada, there is a ski resort nestling in the Sierra Nevada. The Ski season runs from November to March and all necessary equipment can be purchased or hired at the resort.

The Alpujaras, the foot-mountains to the Sierra Nevada range are dotted with old white towns. They make perfect site seeing stop-offs during hill walking, mountain biking or picnicking (Barbequing where facilities exist).  

A popular diving and walking beauty spot can be found at the national park of Cabo de Gata. This is east of Almeria and would be a perfect day out combined with a visit to the Port City of Almeria. A further drive inland from Almeria into the only desert in Europe you will find the Wild West Theme Park. This park contains a sizable zoo set in a spectacular valley and boasts excellent buffet facilities. There are western shows featuring gun fights and performing horses and a convincing western town with trading posts and cowboy exhibitions.  

At Roquetas de Mar there is a theatre, bullring, concert hall, shopping and commercial centre, a water park and numerous shops and bars. It is approximately 25 minutes away by car.
