| Almerimar is a chic, modern town that still has plenty of Spanish character and Andalucian charm. It is known for its excellent golf course, its world class marina and blue flag beach. Being part of the province of Almeria, it boosts the best European climate and gets an average of over 8 hours of sunshine per day throughout the year. As a mature resort, the town caters for all types of holiday maker and there are numerous establishments catering for active pursuits such as bicycle hire, water sports, boat trips, fishing, walking, quad bike and scooter hire etc.. You will also find more relaxing past times such as spa facilities and bird watching at the local nature reserve. For food supplies, there are both smaller traditional food shops as well as a local supermarket. For other items such as clothes and holiday gifts there are both boutiques scattered about the lanes of the marina and a Sunday market. There is a major shopping centre which is a short drive away in the nearby town of El Ejido.
